Leidos’ Defense Systems, Weapons Sensors, Advanced Sensors and Protective Technologies Portfolio is seeking a talented Software Engineer to function full-time within the Advanced Sensors and Protective Technologies Portfolio.

You will join a diverse team of software developers, engineers, and scientists to help create unique solutions for complex problems. Our team solves important problems that make a difference and support our customers in the current and future defense of our nation; primarily in the areas of modeling & simulation, sensor integration, testing, characterization, modeling, simulation, data analysis, and algorithm development for electro-optical infrared (EO/IR) systems. Candidate will be expected to execute within the Agile/Scrum framework, productively contribute to a team environment, and communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• ​ _Work closely with a team of engineers and scientists to write software (using primarily C++ and Python) to solve problems in a variety of disciplines to include EO/IR sensor systems._
• ​ _An ability to interface and troubleshoot with hardware via Ethernet, USB, RS-232, high speed I/O, etc. is expected._
• _​Have the ability to work and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team while having familiarity with developing both Windows and Linux OS._

Basic Qualifications:

• _​Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent engineering or science degree with relevant software-related experience plus 4-8 years of experience in a related field or Master’s degree from an accredited university in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent engineering or science degree with relevant software-related experience plus 2-6 years of experience in a related field._
• _Intermediate ability in C++ and Python_
• _Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area._
• _Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Secret Clearance._

Preferred Qualifications:

• _Active SECRET clearance or above_
• _​Experience with camera interfaces such as Camera Link, CoaXPress, GigE Vision, etc._
• _Familiarity or interest in EO/IR phenomenology and experience with image processing._
• _​Experience with GPU programming and/or CUDA programming._
• _​Experience with developing AI/ML solutions._
• _​Experience with building systems such as CMake._

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
