Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Maritime Systems Division in Long Beach, MS. This role supports the development and integration of advanced shipboard marine power systems for next-generation manned and unmanned maritime platforms. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in marine electrical systems and proficiency in AutoCAD for schematic and layout design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop shipboard electrical power systems, including AC/DC distribution, switchgear, and control systems
  • Create and modify electrical schematics and layouts using AutoCAD
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate subsystems into maritime platforms
  • Support prototype development, testing, and field deployment
  • Conduct verification and validation activities for marine electrical systems
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including test plans and reports
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in shipboard or marine electrical systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and documentation
  • Strong understanding of analog/digital circuit design and marine power distribution
  • Willingness to travel for field testing and integration
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded systems and microprocessor-based control
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer or similar PCB layout tools
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD electrical design practices
  • Prior experience supporting DoD or naval programs

Pay Range:

Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
