_The Defense Systems Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for an Industrial Hygienist to work in our Huntsville, Alabama office. Primary Responsibilities.

_The Industrial Hygienist will assist leadership to resolve health issues by identifying risks, and by implementing mitigations, policies, and programs. Candidate will conduct training and presentations to ensure employee awareness of occupational health developments, execute monitoring programs, initiate corrective actions and halt operations where necessary._

_Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:_

• _Performing EH&S surveys and worksite audits to ensure Safety and Environmental compliance._
• _Advising and collaborating with management to resolve occupational health issues._
• _Executing monitoring and assess employees' exposure to health risks, and measuring effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies, and procedures._
• _Assessing and analyzing research data, summarizing statistics and compiling reports._
• _Implementing programs to protect employee health, and ergonomics._
• _Conducting regular audits of programs._
• _Ensuring employee awareness of occupational health and safety concerns, programs and regulations by conducting training and presentations._
• _Implementing corrective actions and suspending operations if required._
• _Working with Human Recourses on workers' compensation claims pertaining to workplace exposures._
• _Maintaining current knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation._

Basic Qualifications.

• _Position requires a BS degree from an accredited university in chemistry or related field._
• _Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification._
• _5+ years work experience in similar role._
• _Proficient knowledge of relevant laws, policies and procedures._
• _Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written._
• _Proficient organizational skills._
• _Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks._
• _Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment._
• _Candidate must have computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office._
• _Candidate must be able to lift up to 35 lbs._

Preferred Qualifications.

• _Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word_
• _Should exhibit leadership abilities_
• _Should exhibit good organizational skills_
• _BS in EH&S or related discipline._
• _CIH, CSP, CHMM certifications._
• _Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance._
• _Some travel may be required, typically no more than 10%_

_Candidates must be local to the North Alabama area. Candidate will primarily work from Leidos’ Huntsville, AL and Decatur, AL facilities with flexibility for situational telework_

Pay Range:

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
