Leidos’ Defense Systems, Electrical Systems Department is seeking a talented Electrical Manufacturing Test Support Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team to support the Indirect Fires Protection Capability, Increment 2 (IFPC Inc. 2) program in our Huntsville, AL location. Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical expert for diagnosing and resolving failures in circuit cards and electronic assemblies during manufacturing acceptance testing.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to systematically investigate and determine the root cause of test failures.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and hands-on techniques to isolate faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with production floor personnel to provide real-time support and training on troubleshooting best practices.
  • Examine individual components, solder joints, and circuit paths for defects, damage, or improper assembly.
  • Attempt to reproduce failures in a controlled environment to isolate the fault and understand failure modes.
  • Record findings, test data, and steps taken during troubleshooting for traceability and future reference.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, and design teams to communicate findings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in the nonconformance reporting (NCR) process, providing technical input and supporting documentation.
  • Suggest improvements to design, manufacturing, or testing processes to prevent similar failures in future production.
  • Provide feedback to design engineering on recurring failure modes and recommend design improvements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Candidate must have 8+ years of experience in electrical system design, test, and manufacturing from architecture through implementation or 4+ years with MS degree.
  • Candidate must have 5+ years experience troubleshooting circuit card assemblies in a development and/or manufacturing environment
  • Candidate must have experience with technical problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Candidate must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
  • Candidate must have the ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system block diagrams.
  • Candidate must have experience troubleshooting circuit card assemblies.
  • Candidate must have proven understanding of fundamental circuits and circuit components
  • Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • You must be a U.S. Citizen and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.
  • Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical design for military hardware or aerospace systems.
  • Experience supporting electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with the NCR disposition process.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or ERP systems for tracking nonconformances

Pay Range:

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
